DDL’s lone worker safety solution is unique to the UK marketplace and can be broken down into three distinct areas:
Lone Worker Device
The overall solution is device independent, however, DDL recommends the ‘Identicom’ ID badge holder device predominantly due the discreet nature in which it can be worn and used.

The Identicom device uses mobile phone technology to record both amber and red alert messages. Alerts can be raised either by pressing one of the buttons on the rear of the device or a red alert is automatically triggered in the event that the lanyard is detached from the device. The way in which these messages are managed and escalated can be defined and configured by your own team.
The device, when activated using the Amber Alert button, can be configured to automatically commence a timer facility. Staff then have a predefined length of time, for example 30 minutes for a typical job, in which to reset the device before it automatically escalates into red alert mode. This will be particularly useful and may become part of the team’s routine when leaving their vehicle to the point that the job is complete and the worker has returned safely to their vehicle.
Once an amber or red alert has been raised, you will have full visibility of active alerts via the ‘Visualeyes’ web portal.
Visualeyes Monitoring Software and Configuration Tool
DDL has a unique web-based monitoring and configuration tool. To be used independently or in addition to a third party monitoring centre, Visualeyes provides real-time visibility of field based activity and alerts. Using a secure log-in, authorised employees have access to a list view of staff, their current statuses and latest voice recordings. Historical recordings can also be accessed and managed.
The screen changes from green to amber or red whenever there is an alert in progress, with those staff with active alerts automatically escalated to the top of the list.

Visualeyes offers further benefits to customers, enabling trained staff to configure device names and settings as required, produce usability reports and key performance indicator information.
In addition, the system provides location based services whereby an individual’s current approximate location can be identified with street level map based visibility.

In a live incident, the monitoring centre would quickly be able to identify the approximate location of the staff member in addition to monitoring what is being said.
Third Party Monitoring Service
A third party monitoring centre accredited to the most stringent BS5979 Cat II, ensures that trained security staff can provide an immediate, formal response and escalation service to alerts. This service, provided 24 hours each day, receives and manages any alerts as they happen by listening to and recording everything that takes place during the incident, and initiating the most appropriate response. Based on incident severity they will call out the police, alert colleagues or supervisors, or simply archive recordings for use in future legal action or to support changes in working practices.
